A free Quran app for reading and listening
Marmareen puts the whole Quran on your phone or computer in the Uthmani script, ready offline from the first launch. Read ayah by ayah or page by page like a printed mushaf, listen to recitation, and pick up where you left off.
What you get
- The full Quran text (Tanzil, Uthmani script) built into the app: no download needed to read.
- Mushaf pages (all 604) with an ornamental frame, page numbers and pages that turn like paper, with a soft page sound you can switch off.
- Five Quran fonts, adjustable size and line spacing, fine ruled lines under the text, and sepia, night and high-contrast reading colours.
- Nineteen translations in nine languages (English, Urdu, Indonesian, Turkish, French, Spanish, German, Hindi and Persian) from QuranEnc, downloaded once and kept.
- Recitation by several reciters from quran.foundation, with playback that continues in the background, repeats and reading plans.
- Bookmarks, “continue reading”, search by surah or ayah, and any ayah shared as a designed image.
How to use it
- Open the Quran and choose a surah, a juz or a page.
- Tap an ayah to play from it, bookmark it or share it as an image.
- Use the text button to change the font, size, line spacing and page style.
Questions
Is the Quran text in Marmareen verified?
Yes. The Arabic text is the Tanzil Uthmani text, checked against a fixed checksum, and translations come from QuranEnc. Nothing in the Quran text or translations is written or changed by the app.
Can I read the Quran offline?
Yes. The Arabic text is built in. Translations are downloaded once and then work offline. Recitation streams, and recent recitations are kept on your device for up to seven days.
Is Marmareen really free?
Yes. There are no ads, no subscriptions and no account, and your reading history stays on your device.
