Prayer times
The times differ from my mosque.
Open Prayer → settings (the sliders icon) and choose the calculation method your mosque uses. Umm al-Qura is the default. You can also move each prayer by a few minutes.
Alerts arrive late or not at all (Android).
Allow "Alarms and reminders" for Marmareen when asked (or in Prayer settings), and turn off battery optimisation for Marmareen in your phone's settings. Some phones stop apps in the background unless you do.
I don't want to share my location.
You don't have to. Choose your city from the list instead; it works offline.
Quran and recitation
A recitation won't play.
Recitations stream from the internet. Check your connection and try again. Recitations you have played are kept for up to 7 days so they play offline.
How do I add a translation?
In the app, open More → Translations and download one. Translations are not available in the web edition.
Qibla
The compass points the wrong way.
Move your phone in a figure of eight to calibrate it, and keep it away from metal, magnets and phone cases with magnets. Without a compass sensor, Marmareen shows the bearing in degrees.
Your data
Marmareen keeps your data on your device. To delete it, see Delete your data. How Marmareen handles data is in the privacy policy.
Web edition
The Quran and prayer times are also at marmareen.com/app. Duas, zikr, qibla, tawaf, alerts and translations are in the phone app.
